What is repiping?
Repiping, by definition, is completely replacing the existing piping in your Bellevue home with new ones. It doesn’t typically include replacing the drainage or sewer line system, however. Because of the nature of the job being large and costly, it is smart to have a professional look at it and complete it for your Bellevue home. If you see that there are many isolated areas where there leaks, or if there are valves that are corroded or cracked, it may be an indication of a larger problem in your piping system.
If you are planning to remodel your Bellevue home, it is a good idea to complete your repiping work before you repaint or complete your walls.
There are several different reasons why repiping should be done. In other words, these are signs that it may be time to redo the piping in your Bellevue home.
Exposed pipes: Inspect the exposed pipes in your basement.
Crawl space: Crawl space under your Bellevue home. It could also be the piping leading to your water heater.
Signs of Corrosion: Look for flaking, stains, discoloration, dimpling, etc. These are all signs of corrosion.
Discoloration in your water: If you have yellow or brown water in your home, then this usually means that the piping is so old that the rust from the pipes is getting into the water.
Continual water leaks: If there are constant leaks that keep happening in your home, this may mean that the pipes reached a certain condition in which they need to be replaced overall. The initial replacement may cost less than the future repairs that need to be done in an old piping system.
Noise: There should be no noises that are generated from your home’s plumbing. Noisy plumbing is a sign that something is wrong with your plumbing system.
If you notice these signs, it is probably time to call your local plumbing professional. Here at Trusted Plumbing and Heating, we will provide you with the diagnosis of the problem, as well as the recommendation for the next steps.
