Don’t Miss the Renton Farmers Market

Don't Miss the Renton Farmers MarketTuesday’s in June can mean only one thing in the city of Renton. The Renton Farmers Market has arrived! Opening day of the market was on June 6th and you’ll be able to experience this annual event every Tuesday, June 6th – September 26th from 3:00pm-7:00pm. Get ready to enjoy food trucks, fresh produce, and local crafted goods such as jewelry, clothing, and artwork.

Located in Downtown Renton, the farmers market is the perfect place to stop by on your way home from work and grab a quick bite to eat, or to pick up some fresh, seasonal ingredients for that night’s dinner. Each week brings something new, whether that means a fresh crop of fruits and veggies or a new vendor of specialty goods. You’ll also be able to speak with Master Gardeners from Washington State University. They’ll be available to answer your gardening questions and to offer tried and tested gardening solutions. The market also has kid friendly activities like the Kid’s Patch and the Kid’s Passport Program. Both of these activities feature fun ways for parents and their kids to interact and engage with the community and the market.

The Renton Farmers Market has been called “more than just a farmers market.” Established in 2002, the Renton Farmers Market has been ongoing for 23 years. If you have a chance to visit, every week will feature live music, Renton restaurant appearances, and live cooking showcases. A nearby parking garage offers free 2-hour parking and the farmers market is adjacent to the Renton Transit Center, making it easily accessible by public transportation. The website also offers weekly updates of what’s happening at the market that week. You can find out what produce just came in, read weekly recipes that feature seasonal ingredients, and find helpful tips on how to maximize your experience at that week market.

If you’re looking to give back to the community, you can partake in the Buy, One, Donate, One program the farmers market uses to donate to the local Renton Food Bank. Many of the farmers who participate at the market donate produce to the food bank and as a shopper, you can too! Most produce you buy at the market can be donated if you buy two, one for you and one to be donated.

Bring the whole family or hang out with friends after work hours, the Renton Farmers Market is open to all. Service animals are more than welcome, but pets are not currently allowed. You can visit their website to learn more!
